This morning I took out a 6 (8 oared shell with only six rowers) and a 4 (four oared shell) to coach them. I've been coaching since around 2004, either Bainbridge Island Rowing or Kitsap Rowing Association, and I've finally decided that it is not something I look forward to. I still enjoy being out in the launch coaching, but I don't look forward to it as I used to. So I've given notice that I won't be the regular coach anymore. I will fill in when they need me. But Terry is an excellent coach, and wants more opportunity, while I am a tired old man and want less responsibility. So we are doing a swap off of effort here. But, I took several videos of today's rowing. The four is made up of good rowers of varying degrees of experience. The six has two new rowers who only graduated Learn To Row a week or so ago. Here are the videos of today's rowing:

Access to a very nice stream on a private beach. But looking out the left window of the car I saw what I think was an F-18 flying about 50' above our altitude, (or about 150' above the lake level) around 50 yards off to my left! This was followed by two more of the same type planes rolling just like in the video you see of them to make their turns. Total of three of them following the terrain. Cool!!! I haven't seen them in real life doing that, but it is so impressive. Lowlights of the trip, A-Frame house with the bed shoved against the wall is very hard on a tall person who is on the wall side, and Janet fell ...
